Don’t we all struggle maintaining our faith? We all go through situations that shake our faith. In a world where we seem to want to get everything the moment we think about it, it’s hard to have the patience that faith requires. There are times when I, personally, lay in bed late at night and start to question everything I believe in?
“Is it even worth it?” is the first question that always seems to creep into my head.
It’s difficult to have faith in the things that we yet can’t see. A great example is our education. We have so many ideas during our teenage years and they overwhelm our lives. We finally decide what we want to do with our lives right out of high school. We take a leap of faith, believing that it’s the right choice, but it turns out that it’s not. We then start to search for a different path and the faith of pursuing that new adventure isn’t there anymore. Our faith starts to deteriorate.
Or when the difficult times approach us. The difficult times that we didn’t plan for. Such as a sickness that strikes us or someone we love. what do we do then? our faith has just gotten stirred, thrown and ripped apart.
This all leads us to a struggle with our faith. We start to believe the lies that the devil places in front of us. The enemy always seems to put the easiest alternative right in our hands and in desperate situations, we tend to grab it with no hesitation. God’s road is not an easy road and having faith without being able to clearly know that we are in the right direction is hard. Knowing that he will bring us through every situation that we are faced with and will help us bring down walls is difficult.
We know deep in our hearts that he is the greater one and the one that can help us defeat the giant, but the situations and hard experiences we have to deal with just seem to take over. The darkness of the enemy is always looking for faithful servants to attack and make sure that we no longer hold on to our faith.
All I know about this is that the lord is there. He clearly states in his word. He created everything,
“For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or power or rules or authorities: all things were created by him and for him.”-Colossians 1:16.
Therefore he created us and he has control over everything. So next time that the devil decides to try and shake your faith, remember that God holds you and he created you. There is no way he would let his creation fall. He died for you, he will do anything for YOU.
