This is an exciting time in your life. You get to start the best years of your life. I personally never believed that high school was the best. After graduating is when I felt my life had finally started. It’s the time when you get to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life.
Despite the fact that you have total control of that to do, it might be the most difficult decision of your life. I am here to tell you that you shouldn’t feel scared. This will be a time to know who you are and who God created you to be.
“What he opened no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open” -Revelations 3:7
Don’t be afraid of making the wrong choice. God will always provide and guide you where you need to go. You just need to trust that He will.
So, how do you decide what to do? There are so many options, but what did you dream of being when you were a kid? A doctor? A teacher? A scientist? If that was placed in your heart at some point then maybe it’s for a reason, but if you can’t decide why don’t you explore your options. Do some research, really learn about it. And just remember that if half way through it’s not what you want to do, then it’s okay.
“Remember if you’re headed in the wrong direction God allows U-turns” -Allison Gappa Bottke
There will be obstacles placed in your path, because the devil doesn’t like when you’re headed in the right direction. You might face financial obstacles and wont be able to go to school right away, but don’t get discouraged. Don’t forget about your dreams. Keep working until you get where you need to and God will open those doors that need to be opened.
You will be placed in front of so many temptations. There will be so many people that will try to gear you towards something that might seem enjoyable and it might be, but those things don’t last forever. Always keep your eyes on the one that has true happiness for you.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” -Matthew 7:13-14
Just remember that you may fail, but that shouldn’t define you. What should define you is what you do to get back up again. Trust and believe that the Lord is in front of you making a clear path.
