I am not one that gets bored easily. In fact, I can’t remember a time growing up that I ever told my mom that I was bored. However, during this COVID time, I have found myself saying it more often than I want to.
I figured that I should change that since we don’t know when we will be able to go out and be social again. I came up with 3 things that have really helped me every since.
Some people do not enjoy reading at all. But I find that reading keeps your mind more occupied than watching a show on Netflix. You are learning and stimulating your brain. Your brain will be busy for longer and you will not get bored as easily. Do some research and see what books would be a good fit for you right now.
A lot of people have been doing this but mostly for work or for meetings. My friends and I have been doing this weekly. We read a book and discuss it. You don’t necessarily have to read a book but it’s a nice way to keep up with friends. Plus you realize that you’re not the only one feeling that way.
Work on your Hobbies
Some of us are so busy all the time that we do not have time to work on the fun things we like to do. When we actually have some time, we just want to use that time to spend it with family or doing something else. Well now that a lot of us are working from home, it’s time to discover what are the things that we like to do. There might be some hidden hobbies that you probably didnt know about and this is the time to do those. You might be surprised with how much you enjoy doing something.
There are a ton of other things that you can be doing, like going on a walk, run, bike riding, hiking and so much more. Those are all fun things to do as well. I have mostly just tried the 3 mentioned above and I wanted to share what has worked for me.
