A Great Year— 2018

2017 was a great year. I noticed a lot of posts about how some people were so happy that 2017 was finally over. I wasn’t so excited about the year ending, because I had a spectacular year.

At the beginning of 2017, I got my Real Estate License, which was such an accomplishment. I saw my sister graduate from high school, I met amazing people. I wasn’t ready to let 2017 go, however, by the end of the year I realized how comfortable I was getting with life. I wasn’t striving for more, and I was stuck with some habits that I didn’t really like. This is when I changed my mind and just started to think about all the changes I wanted to make in 2018.

At the beginning of every year, we all try to set some goals that we want to achieve for that year. But life usually gets in the way and by the time March comes around we have completely forgotten about those goals. For me one of them is losing weight. I always say the same thing, but you know food is so good.

This 2018, I decided that I was going to set some reachable goals, and I will check back every month and see how I am doing with those goals. I also want to incorporate some new habits in. For example, this year I’m not going to say that I want to lose weight. Instead, I want to say that I’m going to change my eating habits. I’m going to strive to be healthier and the change will come on its own.

I want to pray more. Prayer is extremely powerful and if you want to be able to meet God’s plan for your life, you need to ask him to guide your life in that direction. It’s also another way to be thankful for what you have. Thank God everyday for all that you have and you will see how much your life can change.

One of the things that I’ve always said that I wanted to do was have a “Thankful” book. What that means is that everyday before going to bed, you write what you were thankful for that day. I just want to be able to see that I have so much more than I will ever need, and I would like to remind myself that everyday. With this too, I want to read and write more. I want to focus on this blog more and put more time into it. It’s something that I care about and I want to be able to share my thoughts and ideas with you.

I feel that in 2017, I wasn’t the best of friends. And not because I did something to a friend, but because I didn’t check in as much. I want to be able to build stronger friendships with the people I care about. So if you’re reading this and you know me, expect to hear more from me. I just want to be able to let you know that I am here for anything. Whether or not we talk everyday. This year I am not going to be afraid to demonstrate how much I care about my friends. I want to show everyone that I love and care for that they can count on me.

I also want to make more friends. I have to admit that I am one to decide whether or not we are going to be friends the moment I meet you. I am trying my best to change that, because I know you cant’ get to know someone right away. My goal this year is to take time to get to know people and not assume I know everything about them the moment I meet them.

Lastly, one other thing that I didn’t do much of last year was helping. Just helping others without expecting a Thank You or to be recognized. Just doing it!

Those are some of the things that I want to change and add in 2018. Of course there are career goals that I didn’t mention here, but that’s because some things you need to keep to yourself. You can’t share everything you’re about to do, right?

Let’s make 2018 one of the best years. And don’t let the challenges that life brings, stop you. Always stay connected to God and let him take care of you and remove any obstacle that you’re facing. Let’s keep our faith strong this year!!!

What are some of the goals you have for 2018?

One response to “A Great Year— 2018”

  1. The main goal I would say I have for 2018 is to let the lord guide me in everything. I have found that in the past I have struggled to trust in him fully, so I have tried to do things my way. That strategy has failed miserably, so the plan is to submit and listen to his direction. Here’s to a wonderful 2018!
